The Paka Paka Story

Paka Paka is a contemporary fine jewelry brand, inspired by the unparalleled beauty and rich mining resources of the African continent. Paka Paka (from the Swahili word, “paka”, meaning “cat”) takes its design influences from the majestic lion, who is strong yet elegant, free-spirited yet fierce.

The collection, meticulously crafted by master goldsmiths, tells the African story in a glamorous, romantic and ultra-luxurious way, using only the finest materials such as 18 carat gold, brilliant-cut diamonds and vivid coloured gemstones.

This exciting jewelry house was founded and created by South African entrepreneur & jewelry designer Clare Wiese. Wiese’s family has a substantial stake in Gemfields and other global mining operations, which allows Paka Paka favourable access to some of the world’s finest gemstones.

Paka Paka's inimitable pieces have been featured in some of the world's most recognized fashion magazines, including Harper's Bazaar (on Uma Thurman), Adweek (on cover star Kerry Washington), W and Glamour. The brand also has a growing celebrity following and has been seen on Amy Adams, Regina King, Janel Parrish and Rebecca Romijn.

All pieces are designed by Wiese, in close collaboration with well-known South African jewellers, Ida Elsje & Kim Boezaart.
